- Equinor delivers scholarship to the Young Leader program of the Child Fund Korea Ulsan Chapter

(November 29 2021) Equinor Korea (Country Manager Jacques-Etienne Michel www.equinor.com), the Korean subsidiary of Norwegian state-owned comprehensive energy company with the ambition to become a leader in the energy transition, announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Child Fund Korea Ulsan Chapter and delivered a scholarship as part of this agreement.
This scholarship will be delivered to young talent in the Ulsan area selected as part of the ‘Young Leader’ talent nurturing program conducted by the Child Fund Korea Ulsan chapter. The Young Leader Program is a project to support teenagers in Ulsan who are developing their dreams and talents in culture, arts, sports, and studies, so that they can grow into talented people who can contribute to society.
Equinor globally operates Heroes of Tomorrow, a talent support program for children and young people. The program is aimed at supporting youths in nurturing their dreams in the fields of science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM), culture and art, and sports, so that they can grow into future talents. The Young Leader program of the Child Fund Korea Ulsan Chapter perfectly aligns with this global program, and that is why Equinor thought to collaborate with the Child Fund.
Jacques-Etienne Michel, Country Manager of Equinor Korea, said, “I am delighted to be a part of this contribution to helping young talents in Ulsan, to realize their dreams.” He added, “I hope future generations of children will not give up their talent and grow to fulfil hopes and dreams with energy.”
Han Seon-young, the president of Child Fund Korea Ulsan Chapter, said, “I hope that our children, who are nurturing their dreams despite economic difficulties, will be able to fully develop their talents through this sponsorship. I sincerely thank Equinor Korea for willingly reaching out to the talented children of Ulsan.”
Equinor is participating in the floating offshore wind power generation complex development project promoted by Ulsan City and is promoting the development of two power generation complexes: Donghae1 and Firefly.
