About Equinor

We energise the lives of 170 million people. Everyday.

Our purpose is to turn natural resources into energy for people, and progress for society.

Equinor is a Norwegian broad energy company with more than 21,000 colleagues committed to providing affordable energy for societies worldwide and taking a leading role in the energy transition. We’re on a journey to net zero emissions through optimising our oil and gas portfolio, accelerating growth in renewables and pioneering developments in carbon capture and hydrogen.

We are a global offshore wind major and the world’s leading floating offshore wind developer and operator.

In 2017 Equinor opened the first full-scale floating offshore wind farm, Hywind Scotland which has the highest capacity factors in the UK for the third year in a row. Equinor is building the world’s largest floating wind farm, Hywind Tampen, which will also be the first to power oil and gas platforms.

We also have long experience with bottom-fixed offshore wind, having already built and put into operation Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon in the UK. Now, we are working with partners to deliver Dogger Bank, the world’s biggest offshore wind farm, in the UK.

South Korea has high potential for development of floating offshore wind. Norwegian state-owned Equinor has a long legacy of collaborating with world class Korean shipbuilding and heavy industry companies on building massive platforms and vessels. Building on this joint legacy, Equinor and South Korea will work together to industrialize floating offshore wind.
